SeaScape Number One

IMG_1011, originally uploaded by Jere's Art.

A copy of an old Joy of Painting exercise. When I first learned to paint it was from Bob Ross. Anyone who pooh poohs his painting or instructors porbably doesnt understand the value of brush control and the control of oil paint that great BR students master after 50 - 100 Ala Prima sessions. Also I have never few painters better at painting with a knife than those who have mastered BR methods. Alot of the knife work of other artist seems scraped in. Enough Soap Box. This painting is not for sale. At least no until I paint another one exactly like it.
Prints are available on image kind. If you are interested in a similiar original, let me know.

Boyet

boyet_8, originally uploaded by Jere's Art.

This is a painting of a young farm boy in the Phillipines. I am very interest in the life of the poeple in these areas. Sometimes the simplest things make them happy. They are pensive as they approach adulthood and realize there is a whole world of possibilities they never even though about.

My Work Landscapes, Portraits, and figures

I am working to bring to my viewers, the warmth of the wind and the smell of the air. When I create a portrait or invent a situation. It is the situation I want to share, my goal is to try to bring to the canvas a soul and dimension of the experience I have when I am with someone special. When the morning sun is shining across the mountains or through the windows in my studio. I want you to always remember the simple moments, a smile, a pensive look, or that tree branch you never saw before.
After year of working in many mediums and colors, I am moving to a limited pallet and strictly oil painting for my finished product. I still intend to sketch and study in pastel, water color and oil pastels. But most of the work I will be offering for sale and print will be Oil Painting. Stick around the next 30 days will be amazing.
